There are three performances of
La traviata, scheduled on April 9, 11, and 15, 2021. Sharing stage with her will be tenor Frédéric Antoun as Alfredo and baritone Simon Keenlyside as Giorgio Germont. Andrea Battistoni conducts.
Violetta is a role new to Rosa's repertoire next season, though she is no stranger to this opera. She told in an
interview last year that it was in a small conservatory production of
La Traviata in her hometown Caserta that she met her husband, baritone Sergio Vitale. Violetta's famous aria "E strano… A fors'è lui… Sempre libera" was the piece she sang in
Operalia final in 2010, for which she won Second prize and Prix du public (she also won Prix de zarzuela in the competition). She also has sung a
concert of highlights of
La traviata presented by Renata Scotto at Rome's Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in 2014.
The two performances of
Le nozze di Figaro on July 16 and 18, 2021 are part of the Münchner Opernfestspiele next summer. Sharing stage with her will be baritone Ludovic Tézieras Conte d'Almaviva, soprano Federica Lombardi as Contessa d'Almaviva, bass baritone Alex Esposito as Figaro, and mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter as Marcellina. Ivor Bolton conducts.
Susanna is a role strongly associated with Rosa that she has sung more than 40 times since early in her career, with which she made her debuts at
Teatro La Fenice, in
China (at National Centre for the Performing Arts), at
Glyndebourne Festival, and at
Wiener Staatsoper.
