Rosa Feola making role debut of Violetta

Rosa Feola will make her role debut of Violetta in Verdi's La traviata in upcoming performances at Teatro Chiabrera di Savona (October 16, 18, 2020) and Reate Festival (October 24). Sergio Vitale, Rosa's husband, will take the role of Giorgio Germont. Renata Scotto will be stage director overseeing the production. It was in Teatro Chiabrera on the Chrismas Eve of 1952 that Scotto made her debut in opera as Violetta.

Though she is making her role debut of Violetta, Rosa is no stranger to this opera. She told in an interview last year that it was in a small conservatory production of La traviata in her hometown Caserta that she met her husband, baritone Sergio Vitale. Violetta's famous aria "E strano… A fors'è lui… Sempre libera" was the piece she sang in Operalia final in 2010, for which she won Second prize and Prix du public (she also won Prix de zarzuela in the competition). She also has sung a concert of highlights of La traviata presented by Renata Scotto at Rome's Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in 2014.

Rosa Feola returning to MET in "Rigoletto" for 21/22 season

Due to the current situation of COVID-19 pandemic in USA, the Metropolitan Opera announced cancellation of all its 2020/21 season. In the meantime, they also announced their plan of 2021/22 season. Rosa Feola will return as Gilda in a new production of Verdi's Rigoletto that opened on New Year's Eve. There will be eight additional performances on January 4, 7, 11, 15, 19, 22, 25, 29, 2022. The last one on 29th will be transmitted live to cinemas around world as part of the Met Opera Live in HD series. Sharing stage with her will be Quinn Kelsey in the title role and Piotr Beczała as Duca. Daniele Rustioni conducts.

Rosa Feola to debut at Gran Teatre del Liceu next season in "La traviata"

Gran Teatre del Liceu announced their 2020/21 Season. Rosa Feola will make her house debut there as Violetta of Verdi's La traviata in a production by David McVicar. There are seven performances on December 10, 13, 15, 19, 21, 28, 30, 2020. Alfedo will be sung by Dmitry Korchak, and Giorgio Germont will be sung by Giovanni Meoni. Speranza Scappucci will conduct all but the performance on 19th, which will be conducted by Daniel Montané.

Rosa Feola to perform in "L'elisir d'amore" at Teatro di San Carlo next season

Teatro di San Carlo announced their 2020/21 Season. Rosa Feola will sing the role of Adina in Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore in a production by Damiano Michieletto for five performances on July 23, 25, 27, 29, 31, 2021. Sharing stage with her will be Xabier Anduaga as Nemorino, Gabriele Viviani as Belcore, and Nicola Alaimo as Dulcamara. Riccardo Frizza conducts.

Rosa Feola to participate Concerto inaugurale of Ravenna Festival

The Ravenna Festival will be presented this year with a re-imagined program. Opening the Festival on June 21 will be a concert in the Rocca Brancaleone. Joining Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini under the baton of Riccardo Muti, Rosa Feola will sing Mozart's Exsultate, jubilate motet K. 165 and Et incarnatus est from the Mass in C minor K. 427.

This will be the first live concert in Italy since the lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic. All regulations on social distancing will be followed for saftey of the artists, staff, and audience.

Rosa Feola to perform in "L'elisir d'amore" & "Don Pasquale" at Wiener Staatsoper next season

Wiener Staatsoper announced their 2020/21 Season. Rosa Feola will perform in two operas of Donizetti, as Adina in L'elisir d'amore and as Norina in Don Pasquale.

There are two performances of L'elisir d'amore on February 18 and 21, 2021; there will be four performances of Don Pasquale on March 13, 19, 23, 26, 2021.

Rosa Feola to sing with Berlin Philharmonkier next season

Berlin Philharmoniker announced their 2020/21 Season. In addition to the previously announced performances at Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Rosa Feola will sing more music of Mozart with the orchestra in concerts at Philharmonie in Berlin and on tour in Spain, including next year's European Concert at La Sagrada Família.

Rosa will sing Exsultate, jubilate motet K. 165 in all five concerts, at Philharmonie (Berlin, Germany) on April 29, at La Sagrada Família (Barcelona, Spain) on May 1, at Palau de la Música Catalana (Barcelona, Spain) on May 2, at Palacio de Congresos (Zaragoza, Spain) on May 3, and at Auditorio Nacional de Música (Madrid, Spain) on May 4. She will also sing in Mass in C major, K. 317 “Coronation” for the first two concerts.

For the first of many is a performance of Rossini's La gazza ladra in 2017, which was Rosa Feola's house debut there (and it was also her role debut of Ninetta). Rosa Feola to sing Mozart's Requiem with Berlin Philharmoniker at Osterfestspiele Baden-Baden

Festspielhaus Baden-Baden announced their 2020/21 Season. Rosa Feola will join Berlin Philharmoniker under their chief conductor Kirill Petrenko for an all-Mozart program of their residency during Osterfestspiele, singing the soprano part of Mozart's Requiem in D minor, K. 626. The program will repeat twice on March 29 and April 2, 2021. This will be her festival debut.


Rosa has previously sung the work with Chicago Symphony Orchestra under Riccardo Muti in 2015.

Rosa Feola returning to Bayerische Staatsoper next season in "La traviata" & "Le nozze di Figaro"

Bayerische Staatsoper announced their 2020/21 Season. Rosa Feola will return to the theatre in two productions, as Violetta in Verdi's La traviata and as Susanna in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro.

There are three performances of La traviata, scheduled on April 9, 11, and 15, 2021. Sharing stage with her will be tenor Frédéric Antoun as Alfredo and baritone Simon Keenlyside as Giorgio Germont. Andrea Battistoni conducts.
Violetta is a role new to Rosa's repertoire next season, though she is no stranger to this opera. She told in an interview last year that it was in a small conservatory production of La Traviata in her hometown Caserta that she met her husband, baritone Sergio Vitale. Violetta's famous aria "E strano… A fors'è lui… Sempre libera" was the piece she sang in Operalia final in 2010, for which she won Second prize and Prix du public (she also won Prix de zarzuela in the competition). The two performances of Le nozze di Figaro on July 16 and 18, 2021 are part of the Münchner Opernfestspiele next summer. Sharing stage with her will be baritone Ludovic Tézieras Conte d'Almaviva, soprano Federica Lombardi as Contessa d'Almaviva, bass baritone Alex Esposito as Figaro, and mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter as Marcellina. Ivor Bolton conducts.
Susanna is a role strongly associated with Rosa that she has sung more than 40 times since early in her career, with which she made her debuts at Teatro La Fenice, in China (at National Centre for the Performing Arts), at Glyndebourne Festival, and at Wiener Staatsoper.

As the Italian government ordered suspension of all public gatherings in the country, Teatro alla Scala announced the cancellation of all performances before April 3. Therefore, all the remaining performances of Il turco in Italia are canceled.

La Scala just announced one more week of closure until March 8th, due to the situation of COVID-19 spreading. As a result, the performance of Il turco in Italian on March 4th is canceled.

La Scala canceling performances & Replay of "Il turco" on Rai Radio 3

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in northern Italy, the Ministry of Health, in agreement with the President of the Lombardy Region, has ordered the suspension of any events and initiatives and of any meeting in public places, including cultural ones. For now, the suspension is until Sunday, March 1.

As a result, the performances of Il turco in Italia on February 25 and 28 are canceled.

Meanwhile, Rai Radio 3 is offering on-demand replay for the broadcast recording of the opening night performance on February 22. It will be available until March 3.

Opening performance of the upcoming Il turco in Italia at La Scala this Saturday, February 22, will be broadcast live by Rai Radio 3. The performance begins at 20.00 CET (19.00 GMT).

Rosa Feola to perform in "L'elisir d'amore" at Lyric Opera of Chicago next season

Lyric Opera of Chicago announced their 2020/21 Season. Rosa Feola will sing the role of Adina in Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore in a production by Daniel Slater for five performances on January 30 and February 3, 6, 9, 12, 2021. Sharing stage with her will be Matthew Polenzani as Nemorino, Andrzej Filończyk as Belcore, and Nicola Alaimo as Dulcamara. Eun Sun Kim conducts.

Rosa made her role debut of Adina at Teatro dell'Opera di Roma in 2011. Recently, she has sung the role at La Scala last fall, and will soon reprise it at Wiener Staatsoper and Staatsoper Hamburg.

Rosa made her Lyric Opera of Chicago debut in 2017 as Gilda in Verdi's Rigoletto.
